Our Story

Baklavaci is a story steeped in tradition, a journey of flavours that began in the heart of Selly Oak back in 1988. It all started with a passion for the rich heritage of baklava, a dessert that has graced tables for centuries across the Middle East.

Our founder, Fatma & Kaya, brought their love for this exquisite pastry to Birmingham, determined to share its magic. With each baklava meticulously crafted by hand, using only the finest ingredients and time-honoured techniques, the word quickly spread.

The aroma of freshly baked baklava soon became a familiar comfort in Selly Oak. As our reputation grew, so did our desire to share our baklava with more of Birmingham. This led us to open a charming cafe in Harborne, a haven for sweet tooths and those seeking a taste of tradition.

Our dedication to quality and authenticity didn't stop there. We began supplying our baklava to restaurants in Sutton Coldfield, and the city centre, bringing a touch of sweetness to their menus. Now, with immense pride, we're thrilled to announce the opening of our very own shop in the heart of Edgbaston.

This new chapter allows us to connect directly with even more baklava lovers. It's a culmination of years of experience, a testament to the unwavering passion that has guided us since our humble beginnings in Selly Oak.
